Dear Senator Schumer:
Last week, on August 14, there was an article in our Democrat and Chronicle about President Obama coming to cities in upstate New York.
The article mentioned how you would love him to come to Rochester, and if the president had time, that maybe he would “enjoy a stop at Dinosaur Bar-B-Que” like he did at Duff’s in Buffalo.
We at Sticky Lips Pit BBQ, founded in Rochester, know that you are a very busy person and may not be up on all your cities’ culinary destination places. While Duff’s is a Buffalo institution and unique to that city, we would like to point out that Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was founded in Syracuse (no disrespect).
Sticky Lips is Rochester homegrown, currently in its tenth year. We employ close to 200 employees part and full time. We are currently expanding our original store, which will add more good paying jobs.
After the expansion to the original restaurant is complete, it will be the largest in the city proper. Our store in Henrietta, at 12,000 square feet, is the biggest BBQ restaurant in New York State.
We feel that if you’re talking BBQ in Rochester, NY, Sticky Lips BBQ should be first on your mind.
Next time you’re in town, come in for dinner on me!
Sincerely,
Howard Nielsen
Owner, Sticky Lips Pit BBQ and Sticky Lips BBQ Juke Joint
