Family and friends of a Penfield Youth Wrestling coach gathered to raise money for him and his family.

They came out to Sticky Lips Barbeque in Henrietta for Penfield Wrestling Coach Scott Kropman. Kropman says he found out he had Stage IV Neuro Endocrine cancer when he went for a check up after getting hurt at work this summer. This type of cancer is incurable and it’s not possible to go into remission. But Kropman is taking medicine to keep the cells from spreading further.

The husband and father says he is staying positive.

Kropman said, “The biggest thing they told me that could help me is positive attitude. You know, I have a wonderful family of seven, these are two of my boys right here. I have a wonderful wife, great friends, I have a wrestling family that I can’t even explain what they’ve done for me Everything around me makes me positive so how can’t I be positive?”

Also at Monday’s event, Kropman and his wife renewed their vows.
