I want to say thank you to the Rochester community for the overwhelming response to my situation with the New York State Labor Department. If you feel strongly on this issue, please pass my letter on to a friend or business associate. Or if you have been in a similar situation, share your story with your local and state politicians and the media.
I’d also like to thank all of the following politicians who replied to my letters and gave us support and direction.

One more action group worth mentioning is Unshackle Upstate at unshackleupstate.com . It’s a bipartisan coalition focused on fixing state government, making it more accountable to NY’s taxpayers. Let them know how you feel!
In response to comments from the electrical union president, we thank him for his business at Sticky Lips BBQ. His statement is correct — we were contacted by the NYS Labor Dept more than halfway through the 1 1/2 year project due to your representative’s visit to our store. I did respond promptly to the NYS Labor Dept through my attorney stating that our position is that ours is not a public works project, and that prevailing wages do not apply.
